Pouch or pump? Here’s why you shouldn’t leave home without your carnivalista pump!
A lot of people ask if Miami carnival is really worth it and honestly, worthiness is subjective. I can tell you from my POV that at some point during the year I always say to myself “I’m not doing Miami carnival this year” whether its a time or a money issue but strangely I haven’t missed a Miami carnival in the past 8 years (lol, not ONE). Crazy, right?
Why? Because I truly believe it is one of the most accessible and enjoyable carnivals to date. Miami Broward Carnival is truly magnetic no matter if you’ve never done it, done it sporadically or done it year in and out religiously.

What To Wear to an all - white affair
After camping out in Ft Lauderdale airport overnight (more than determined not to miss my flight), I savored the 4-5 hours of “as comfortable as you can get on an airplane” sleep all the way to Grantley-Adams International Airport.
Touchdown in BIM. Barbados is gorgeous, so lush and green surrounded by a sea of the most breathtaking blue waters. I was literally in awe of the landscape of this island. I’m still bothered that I didn’t take a quick pic before walking into customs and immigration.
You know as overwhelming as it can be… it’s not rocket science.

Forget about the complicated routines, the influx of waist trainers, diet teas, magic pills etc. I know the title of this blog is 3 Reasons Why You’re Not Really Seeing Results (I’m gonna break those down anyway) but in truth, there’s only ONE really real reason you’re not.
I haven’t done a carnival review in a long time simply based on the fact that I don’t get around to much carnivals that much anymore..basically because LIFE.
And I heavily debated offering my 5 cents about this years BJC (Bahamas Junkanoo Carnival) for various reasons:
1. Silly season (election year) and the heightened tensions of which of the Bahamas’ favorite stop light parties would be the incumbent government.
2. The constant argument regarding who’s monies is paying/paid for this years BJC as well as why it should be cancelled aka postponed aka privatized aka all the above.
